The 2025 Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series has received its first significant update since its launch in 2021, with changes focusing on technology, safety, and convenience rather than exterior styling. This update is rolling out in various markets, including Japan and Australia, with the refreshed models expected to arrive in Australia between April and June 2025 (Q2 2025).

Technology Enhancements:
Infotainment System: The updated Land Cruiser 300 features Toyota’s latest multimedia system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected satellite navigation, and over-the-air software update capabilities. Lower trims (GX and GXL) now have an 8-inch touchscreen (down from 9 inches), while higher trims (VX, Sahara, GR Sport, and Sahara ZX) upgrade to a 12.3-inch touchscreen.
Instrument Cluster: The GX and GXL grades get a 7-inch digital instrument display (up from 4.2 inches), while higher grades move to a fully digital 12.3-inch cluster (up from 7 inches).
Connected Services: Expanded Toyota Connected Services via the myToyota app include remote climate control, vehicle status, trip information, and additional alerts.
Safety Upgrades Of 2025 Toyota LandCruiser 300
Across all variants, the Toyota Safety Sense suite now includes lane-centring assist (with steering wheel vibration), emergency steering assist, and an emergency driving stop system (which can pull the vehicle over safely if the driver is unresponsive, provided adaptive cruise control and lane-centring are active).
GXL and above trims with blind-spot monitoring gain a safe exit assist feature to warn of approaching vehicles or cyclists when opening doors. The GXL also adds low-speed rear autonomous emergency braking.
In Japan, additional safety features include pre-crash cyclist detection and enhanced cybersecurity measures.
Convenience and Equipment:
GX Trim: Gains power-adjustable steering column, LED interior lighting, and reversing camera guidelines.
GXL Trim: Adds suede-like upholstery, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, four-zone climate control, a cooled centre console, and a 40/20/40 split-folding second-row seat with an armrest.
VX Trim: Includes an 8-way power-adjustable passenger seat, an electric tailgate, and an HDMI port (replacing the CD/DVD player in higher trims).
GR Sport: Features a puddle lamp on the tailgate for better nighttime visibility.In Japan, the third-row seats now have electric folding functionality on certain trims.

Anti-Theft Measures (Japan-Specific):
In response to the Land Cruiser being the most stolen vehicle in Japan, new features include a “My Car Start Lock” (remote engine lock via smartphone), fingerprint authentication start button, tilt-sensor alarm, and an immobilizer system.
Powertrain:
No mechanical changes have been made. The 300 Series retains its 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 diesel engine (227 kW/700 Nm) paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and full-time four-wheel drive. In Japan, it also offers a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol option. The diesel engine has been updated to comply with stricter emissions standards, such as Japan’s latest regulations and potentially Europe’s Real Driving Emissions (RDE) requirements.

Price And Availability Of A 2025 Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series
Pricing details are yet to be confirmed but are expected to rise from the current range of AUD 96,991 to AUD 145,791 (before on-road costs). Full details will be announced closer to the Q2 2025 launch.
Japan: Prices start at ¥5,252,500 (USD 35,100) for the GX petrol trim, rising to ¥8,136,800 (USD 54,400) for the GR Sport diesel, reflecting a modest increase of ¥130,900 to ¥152,500 (USD 875–1,020) over the previous model. Toyota has suspended new orders in Japan to focus on clearing existing waitlists due to high demand.
