Joel Ssenyonyi, a prominent Ugandan politician, and former journalist, was born on December 20, 1986, at Mulago Hospital to Mr Joseph Basekezi and Mrs Dorothy Nankunda. Hailing from Nakasongola, Ssenyonyi is a Muruuli by culture who spent his formative years in Kyengera, a suburb of Kampala. While working, Ssenyonyi pursued a Bachelor of Science in Business Statistics at Makerere University, showcasing his commitment to both his education and career. After five years as a news anchor and talk show host at NTV Uganda, Ssenyonyi left the journalism scene in May 2019.
