This makes waste disposal effortless and efficient.

How was Yo-Waste created?

Originally conceived as a student project at Makerere University, the startup received crucial support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). With UNDP’s backing, Yo-Waste developed its mobile application, which has connected over 1,000 households in Kampala and Entebbe, streamlining waste collection processes across the region. By working closely with municipalities, local leaders, communities, and businesses, the company collects approximately 320 tons of municipal solid waste monthly, significantly improving waste management efficiency in Uganda.
