Launching the #15kCampaign

Wetsetse Suzan, the CEO Shendi Foundation had this to say about the #15kcampaign: after our first outreach to the mothers in the labor suite on 13th May 2024, we got in touch with one of the doctors, Dr. Martha, who looks after the premature babies. We learned of many items lacking as these mothers stay in the hospital longer than other mothers until the babies are fine. Caring for a preemie child is physically and emotionally exhausting, but great things come from great struggle.

Shendi Foundation #15kcampaign

We organized a #15kcampaign to buy 100 stools for mothers of premature babies at Mbale Main Hospital, which we handed over on July 15, 2024, during our outreach.

Delivering the Stools to Mbale Main Hospital

Most of these mothers had always been either standing while breastfeeding, but with the stools provided, they were smiling endlessly because they could now comfortably feed their babies without going through a lot of pain. Every mother managed to get a stool during our Shendi foundation outreach at the hospital.

Support from Nivana Water

Nivana Water also gave us water to provide to these mothers and to refresh the team that went to the field. Thank you, Nivana Water.

Conclusion on the outreach at Mbale Main Hospital

The Shendi Foundation’s transformative outreach at Mbale Main Hospital successfully addressed critical needs for mothers of premature babies. By providing essential stools and water, the initiative significantly improved the comfort and well-being of these mothers. The campaign’s success highlights the importance of community support and collaboration, leaving a lasting positive impact on the hospital and its patients.
