Time check is 7PM EAT and guests are walking to Sheraton Hotel to witness the Miss Uganda 2024 Winners. It all happened on 3rd August 2024 and we all knew, the grand finale of Miss Uganda 2024 would be a night to remember! The event was officially started by Ugandan popular singer, Jackie Chandiru singing the National Anthem. The venue got filled up with guests purely dressed in sparkling elegant outfits.

We send our sincere warm congratulations to Natasha Nyonyozi who is the new Miss Uganda 2024 winner. During the voting competition, she had lost to Letaru Prisca who became Miss Popularity. Did you know that we already wrote an article about Natasha?

Before we knew it, our hosts were the charismatic duo Anita Fabiola, dressed in a chic light white office suit, and Andrew Kyamagero, in a sharp army green suit. Surely, the night was as much about style as it was about substance. One of the most notable guests of the prestigious night was Halima Kokwe who is the reigning Miss Tanzania. In one of the breaks was a special appearance by Madoxx Ssematimba. The legendary reggae icon performed his popular songs including “Namagembe.”

One of the evening’s highlights was the appearance of four former Miss Uganda winners. These four elegant queens dazzled the audience in four different sparkling colors. Among them was Stella Nantumbwe, Miss Uganda 2013. She shared her challenges of dealing with fame and maintaining a public image ever since the weight of the crown descended on her. Stella wished all the best for the upcoming Miss Uganda 2024 winners. Later on, during the announcement of the Miss Uganda 2024 winners, the former winners would handover their sashes.

Who were The Judges at the coronation of Miss Uganda 2024 Winners?

Andrew Kyamagero announced the panel of judges. There were four judges; Purity Kategaya Wakko, Quinn Abenakyo, Robert Lukyamuzi, Olivia Nakakande, and Keith Karuhura, faced the daunting task of evaluating an impressive lineup of contestants. It is important to note that the contestants had undergone several tests in the previous four weeks. On this particular evening, they were tested on their intelligence, self esteem, speaking skills and composure.

The contestants also modeled creations from renowned Ugandan designers Marie Stitches and Joan Jade, adding a touch of local fashion to the event.

The Q and A Session with Top 12 Miss Uganda 2024 Contestants

There was a thorough intellectual competition which narrowed down the 26 contestants to top 12 Miss Uganda 2024 winners. This was a Q and A session where the contestants were asked random questions that required them to give sensible answers confidently.

  • Sureya Umeimah said how her culture taught her respect for elders.
  • Natasha Nyonyozi highlighted her joy in creativity and art.
  • Letaru Prisca Queen Patience discussed introducing education to her community.
  • Naigaga Miriam advocated for using social media to create sustainable lives.
  • Tumusiime praised Uganda’s loving nature.
  • Maria Mugagga wished for technological advancements like teleportation.
  • Joan Nabatanzi stressed the importance of taking breaks for mental health.
  • Mercy Nankabirwa focused on the need for investment in transportation.
  • Amusolo Pauline spoke about personal development.
  • Banura Sulaina credited her confidence to her supportive parents.
  • Nalumansi Esther Kironde recently honed her public speaking skills.
  • Mercy Adong celebrated Uganda’s rich art heritage.

In the final round of Q&A, the top 7 Miss Uganda 2024 winners discussed deeper issues:

At this point, the pressure in the Sheraton gardens was physically visible because nobody was ready to lose. The reigning queen, Hannah Karema came to the stage and sat on her throne. The top 7 contestants were joined by the former winners on stage. Before the winners were announced, all the people on stage represented by Stella Nantumbwe thanked their overall mentor Brenda Nanyonjo aka Mama B for not giving up on the girls since they started. After this, Brenda Nanyonjo took the honour to announce the top 5 Miss Uganda 2024 winners in reversed chronological order.

What you need to know about Miss Uganda 2024 Winners

At the end of all the intense struggles, Natasha Nyonyozi was crowned Miss Uganda 2024. This is the beginning of her journey as an ambassador of beauty, intelligence, and social responsibility. Just for the record, who is she? Natasha Nyonyozi is a 23-year-old finalist in the 2024/25 Miss Uganda pageant. She was born in the year 2001 and raised in Kyonyo, Kamuganguzi near Katuna in Kabale district, Uganda.

At the time of writing this article, Natasha Nyonyozi is a contestant in the Miss Uganda 2024 contest. She is also a popular figure in beauty and advocacy.
