Trending today on X (formerly Twitter) is “Bobi Wine Graduation”. Robert Kyagulanyi, widely known as Bobi Wine, has graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree from Cavendish University in Kampala.

The NUP party took to social media to share his joy and gratitude, stating, “The president has today worn his graduation gown to symbolize his victory in a journey he began at IUEA in 2016 and hit the finish line at Cavendish University seven years later. Despite his busy schedule and divided attention largely dedicated to national liberation, he graduated with a bachelor’s Degree in Law. Congratulations are in order, Bobi Wine. Your academic victory is of great significance and an inspiration.” His graduation has been met with an outpouring of congratulations from supporters and well-wishers across the country.

What qualifications has he been having in the past?

According to Wikipedia, Bobi Wine attended Makerere University in Kampala. There, he studied music, dance, and drama, graduating with a diploma in 2003. Later on in 2016, Kyagulanyi joined the International University of East Africa for a Bachelor of Laws degree. Today, the 8th of August 2024, Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu has officially graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree from Cavendish University.

Who confirmed rumors about the so-called Graduation?

Over the past few weeks, there have been rumors that Bobi Wine would be graduating. On 26th July 2024, the university confirmed that the opposition leader would indeed graduate along with 650 others early next month. The 13th graduation ceremony happened on August 8th at Speke Resort Munyonyo. It was attended by former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan. Others questioned whether the NUP president had participated in and completed the law course at the university.
