A heated fallout has sparked between Kalifah Aganaga and King Saha following a snub over a concert promotion. On August 24, 2024, Kalifah celebrated a major milestone—10 years in the music industry—at Wankulukuku Stadium. As is common for Ugandan artists, Kalifah reached out to fellow musicians, requesting promotional support for his concert through video endorsements. To his surprise, King Saha declined, leaving Kalifah disappointed, especially given the support he had previously extended to Saha, even visiting him during his illness.

Kalifah recalled another incident where he had paid Saha to perform at an event, only for him to attend but refuse to get on stage. Despite their past interactions, Kalifah was taken aback when Saha not only refused to record the video but later went on social media to badmouth him after the concert.

In an interview, Kalifah downplayed the situation, saying, “I only asked him to help promote my concert, but he refused. Then, after the show, I saw him trash-talking me online.”

Kalifah believes their rift is rooted in politics. As a member of the Uganda National Musicians Federation and an ally of the federation’s president, Eddy Kenzo, he thinks Saha’s refusal stems from their opposing political stances. King Saha, a close associate of Bobi Wine, has frequently criticized the federation for aligning with the government.

However, Kalifah pointed out the irony of Saha’s stance, given his involvement in the controversial ‘Tubonga Nawe’ project, where musicians rallied to support the government. Kalifah went further, accusing Saha of using funds from the project for personal gain, including building his house. “He can’t claim to be clean when he’s already pocketed the ‘Tubonga Nawe’ money. He should return it first before judging us. I was never part of that project,” Kalifah stated.

Despite Saha’s refusal to help, Kalifah’s concert turned out to be a success, drawing large crowds. Emboldened by the outcome, he publicly distanced himself from Saha, stating, “You didn’t promote my show because you wanted it to fail. Now that it’s a success, stay quiet. Your opinions no longer matter, and you have no influence on me. You may be the King, but I am the Emperor.”

Kalifah concluded by expressing gratitude to his fans, whose overwhelming support proved his detractors wrong.
