The Open Park Day: More Than Just Free Entry

The Open Park Days offer even more than just free entry. Visitors will also be treated to complimentary game drives, allowing them to experience Uganda’s stunning landscapes and diverse wildlife up close.

“This initiative is more than just a promotion,” said Mr. Stephen Masaba, Director of Tourism and Business Development at UWA. “It’s a call to action for all Ugandans to rediscover the beauty and wonder of their own natural heritage.”

The Open Park Days program aims to boost domestic tourism, a key driver of the Ugandan economy. Every visit to a national park not only benefits local communities but also fosters a sense of responsibility towards protecting these natural resources.

Following World Tourism Day Theme

The initiative coincides with the recent celebration of World Tourism Day on September 27th, themed “Tourism and Peace.” UWA hopes Open Park Days will encourage cultural exchange and a deeper appreciation for Uganda’s heritage.

To amplify awareness, UWA has partnered with a team of influencers who will travel across the participating parks. They will document their experiences and share them on social media, showcasing the parks’ beauty and unique wildlife.

Benefits the Open Park Days for Local Communities

Open Park Days also offer an opportunity for communities living near conservation areas to experience the parks firsthand. This fosters understanding and appreciation for wildlife conservation efforts, strengthening UWA’s relationship with local communities.

So, if you’re looking for an unforgettable adventure, head to one of Uganda’s participating national parks during Open Park Days. It’s a chance to explore stunning landscapes, witness incredible wildlife, and contribute to the preservation of Uganda’s natural heritage.
