TikToker Emmanuella Musimanta, popularly known as Pretty Nicole, has been officially appointed as the brand ambassador for children under the Ministry of Labour, Gender, and Social Development. The announcement was made during her visit to the State Minister for Youth and Children Affairs, Hon. Balaam Barugahara, at his office in Kampala on Tuesday.

Who is Pretty Nicole and why is she famous?

Pretty Nicole at just 16 years old, has been a controversial figure in Uganda due to her involvement in social media disputes, provocative videos, and public altercations. Despite attempts by family and friends to help her reform, her behavior had previously cast doubt on her future. Last year, she was featured in a video as a vixen for Mikie Wine and we wrote about it here.

However, Hon. Balaam declared during the briefing, “Pretty Nicole is now reformed. She approached me and expressed her struggles with paying tuition. I assured her that I would personally cover her school fees for the next two terms.”

Nicole’s reformation journey is attributed to the unwavering support of her family, especially her aunt, and the guidance provided by the minister. “If we continue in this direction, Nicole will achieve greatness,” he remarked.

Why is Pretty Nicole going to Canada?

Pretty Nicole is receiving a renewed focus on education. The minister confirmed that she has already paid her first term fees for Senior Four, and he will sponsor her for the remaining two terms. Beyond this, there are plans to support her aspiration to study in Canada after completing Senior Four.

“This trip will be good for her development,” Hon. Balaam said, referring to an invitation Nicole received to visit Canada. “It will teach her how to handle situations that can lead teens astray. These skills will not only benefit Nicole but also contribute to government initiatives for youth empowerment.”

What did Balaam Barugahara say about Pretty Nicole?

Hon. Balaam urged Pretty Nicole to stay focused on her studies and avoid distractions such as men, drugs, alcohol, and indecent behavior. He warned of the potential dangers, including early pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases, which could derail her progress.

“Once she turns 18, Nicole will have the freedom to make her own decisions as a legal adult. However, I encourage her to stay on the right path and prioritize her future,” he advised.

In a protective gesture, Hon. Balaam declared himself Nicole’s “uncle,” firmly cautioning any potential suitors. “I will personally deal with any man or boy who tries to interfere with her progress—not as a minister but as her uncle,” he said.

Ambassador for Children

During her meeting with Hon. Balaam, Pretty Nicole was honored with the title of brand ambassador for children. This appointment aligns with her commitment to acting as a positive role model for youth.

“She has promised to change her ways and set an example for other children,” said Hon. Balaam. Nicole’s role will also include working with the ministry on initiatives aimed at empowering and protecting children.

A Controversial Past

Pretty Nicole rose to fame in 2023 after a viral video showed her being assaulted by friends over allegations of “stealing” Queen Kaftah’s boyfriend, Derrick Lwanga. The incident led to Queen Kaftah’s three-year prison sentence, while Nicole returned to school and began her journey toward rehabilitation.

What has Pretty Nicole said about the opportunities?

Nicole expressed gratitude for the support she has received and shared her desire to use her experiences to help other young people. “I want to act as an example to children who have faced similar challenges and show them that change is possible,” she stated.

Hon. Balaam emphasized that Nicole’s planned trip to Canada will equip her with skills to assist children who are tortured and traumatized. Upon her return, she will contribute insights to the Ministry of Youth and Children Affairs.

In closing, Hon. Balaam expressed optimism about Nicole’s transformation: “This is just the beginning of her journey. With continued guidance, she will inspire many and help create a brighter future for our youth.”

Nicole’s appointment and plans to study abroad mark a significant turning point in her life, demonstrating that even those with troubled pasts can rise to inspire change.
