The music industry is mourning the tragic loss of Ashna Lweri, a young Congolese musician who had begun making a name for herself in the Ugandan music scene. Best known for her 2024 collaboration Nahaso with rapper Fik Fameica, Ashna’s budding career was cut short on the night of February 27, 2025.

When did Ashna Lweri die?

According to an obituary notice released by her management on Thursday, Ashna Lweri was pronounced dead at 11:00 PM February 27, 2025 at Sambia Hospital in Kampala, Uganda. Reports indicate that a fire broke out in her home due to an electrical fault while she was asleep in her bedroom.

Her mother, who attempted to rescue her, suffered severe burns and is currently receiving medical treatment. The incident has left family, friends, and fans devastated.
