When is the deadline for Uganda Police Recruitment?
The Uganda Police Force has officially announced March 21, 2025, as the deadline for applications in its latest recruitment drive, aiming to enlist 10,000 new personnel.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the Police confirmed that the recruitment process is ongoing and outlined the eligibility criteria and application requirements.

Eligibility Requirements for Uganda Police Recruitment
To qualify, applicants must be Ugandan citizens with either a valid national ID or a confirmation of information on the register letter from the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA). Other key requirements include:
- No criminal record
- Physical and medical fitness
- Readiness to undergo Police Basic Training
- Willingness to work in any part of the country under potentially challenging conditions
- Strong communication skills
- No prior service in other security forces
Academic Qualifications
Candidates must have completed the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or its equivalent in a single sitting, with results not older than 2020.
- Under the traditional grading system: A minimum of four credits, including either English language or mathematics, and at least a pass in the other subject.
- Under the competency-based system: A minimum of four “C” grades, including either English or mathematics, and at least a “D” grade in the other subject.
Application Process
Interested candidates must submit handwritten applications addressed to the Inspector General of Police. The application must include:
- Photocopies of academic documents
- A valid national ID
- Three recent passport-size photographs
- An ID or introductory letter from the last attended school
- Recommendation letters from LCI, LCIII, and the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of their district of residence
Applications must be delivered to the nearest Police District or Divisional Headquarters by the deadline.
Important Notices
The Police have warned against impersonation, submission of forged documents, and providing false information, which will result in disqualification, arrest, and prosecution.
Successful candidates will only be appointed after completing Police Basic Training. While female candidates are encouraged to apply, individuals with higher academic qualifications should not. Possession of a valid driving permit is considered an added advantage.
The Uganda Police emphasized that the recruitment process is entirely free of charge, cautioning applicants against paying for any services. For further details, candidates are advised to visit the nearest Police headquarters.
