Royco’s Unveils New #KaCubeKuString Pack.
Unilever, a global leader in fast-moving consumer goods, has unveiled its latest packaging innovation—the Royco String Pack—in response to growing consumer demand for greater convenience and accessibility.
Royco has been a beloved staple in Ugandan homes for generations, renowned for its ability to enhance the flavor of local dishes. The transition to the Royco String Pack—locally referred to as #KaCubeKuString—reflects Unilever’s commitment to innovation, and consumer needs, while ensuring the same rich, bold flavor and high-quality nutritional value that consumers trust.

Different Pack, Affordable Price.
The new format features 12 cubes conveniently arranged on a string, making storage and usage simpler and more efficient. This evolution maintains the product’s affordability, with each string pack available for just UGX 100.
Speaking at the launch event in Gulu City, Unilever East Africa GM, Luck Ochieng, emphasized Royco’s deep-rooted legacy while embracing it’s nutritional value. “Introducing the Royco String Pack—#KaCubeKuString! Each cube is packed with essential nutrients, including iron for healthy blood and energy levels. With natural herbs and spices like coriander, garlic, cumin, turmeric, and paprika, Royco enhances flavor while supporting overall well-being. Our commitment to quality ensures every cube delivers the same authentic taste and nutritional benefits, preserving the traditions that bring families together.”

Despite the change in packaging, Royco cubes retain their original formulation, packed with essential nutrients such as iron and iodine, making them a nutritious choice for families.
Additionally, Unilever continues to uphold its rigorous quality assurance standards, ensuring that every cube delivers the same depth of flavor and reliability. The Royco String Pack has been available in stores across Uganda from March 21, 2025.
