Green Daddy Foundation Expands ‘Tree Plus’ Initiative Nationwide

Green Daddy Foundation has officially launched its ‘Tree Plus’ initiative at Nateete Police Station, marking the beginning of a nationwide environmental campaign. The initiative, which was inaugurated on March 13, 2025, aims to promote tree planting across Uganda as part of efforts to combat deforestation and enhance climate resilience.

The launch event was attended by key officials, including Green Daddy the CEO and founder , Sande Music , Ticha Ticha Kawuki ,the District Police Commander (DPC. Kachumu Robert , the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nateete Police Station, and several police officers. Their presence highlighted the role of law enforcement in community-driven sustainability projects.

‘’Tree Plus’ is designed to encourage both urban and rural communities to participate in afforestation efforts, restoring natural ecosystems and improving air quality. The program seeks to engage various stakeholders, including government institutions, schools, and local communities, in making Uganda greener and more sustainable.

Speaking at the launch, the DPC emphasized the importance of tree planting in environmental conservation and pledged the police’s commitment to supporting the initiative. The OC of Nateete Police Station echoed this sentiment, expressing enthusiasm for the partnership with Green Daddy Foundation.

Following the successful launch, the foundation has announced plans to expand the initiative nationwide. With Uganda facing significant environmental challenges, the ‘Tree Plus’ project aims to make a lasting impact by increasing tree cover and fostering a culture of conservation.

Green Daddy Foundation has called on all Ugandans to take part in the initiative, urging communities to embrace tree planting as a means of securing the country’s environmental future.
