The UDSF National Youth Breaking Championship 2025 is set to take place on Sunday, 10th August 2025, at Vision for Africa High School, Nakifuma. This high-energy event will bring together 48 top youth breakers competing for a chance to represent Uganda at the WDSF World Breaking Championship Youth 1vs1 2025 in Matosinhos, Portugal come August 28.

Not only is UDSF National Youth Breaking Championship 2025 a national qualifier, but it’s also a Youth Olympic Ranking Event on the road to the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games. With fierce battles expected, this championship will showcase Uganda’s best young B-Boys and B-Girls.
What Is the UDSF National Youth Breaking Championship?
The Uganda DanceSport Federation (UDSF) organizes this championship to identify the country’s most talented breakers. The winners of UDSF National Youth Breaking Championship 2025 will earn the right to compete internationally, putting Uganda on the global breaking map.

This year’s event follows the USSSA Ball Games II 2025 in Tororo, where schools like Sheema Girls Secondary School and St Julian High School Gayaza won the girls and boys category respectively in the DanceSport discipline. Now, the focus shifts to breaking, a dynamic and acrobatic dance style that blends athleticism and creativity.


Who Will Compete in the Championship?
UDSF National Youth Breaking Championship 2025 will feature 32 top-ranked Youth B-Boys and 16 top-ranked Youth B-Girls. These athletes have been selected based on their performances in recent competitions, including the USSSA Ball Games II.


Among the summoned competitors are Owori Micheal and Owori Paul, who will represent their school – Rubongi Army SS Tororo , the only School in Bukedi Region ( comprising around 7 districts ) which managed to present a DanceSport Team . The event promises intense battles as these young breakers fight for national glory and a ticket to Portugal.

Why Is This Championship Important?
A Gateway to the World Stage. The winners will qualify for the WDSF World Breaking Championship in Portugal. This will be at Matosinhos, Porto, Portugal for the age group born in 2007-2013 . This is a rare opportunity for Ugandan youth to compete against the best breakers globally.

Olympic Dreams. Breaking made its full Olympic debut at Paris 2024.DanceSport earlier made its mark at the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games and will also feature in the 2026 Dakar Youth Olympics. This championship is a stepping stone for athletes aiming to qualify for these prestigious events.
