New work by Winnie Natongo

This compilation has four distinct chapters; The mess we made, faked my way out, the calm after, and new beginnings, each serving as a portal to Winnie’s inner world. Through the medium of poetry, the 24 year old poet is peeling back the layers of her own experiences, uncovering raw emotions and untangling the complexities of her life.

The Four Chapters in “ Dining with the enemy “

In the first chapter, “The Mess We Made,” Winnie lays bare the chaos that has shaped her own existence. It is in this chapter that she confronts love, heartbreak, her thirst for validation, anxiety and depression with unwavering honesty. Through this chapter, she further confronts her past, embraces the raw emotions, flawed decisions, and unforeseen repercussions that have defined her journey.

“Faked My Way Out,” fearlessly confronts Winnie’s personal struggles. The poems in this second chapter transcend pain, offer a glimpse into her resilience and the strength that emerges from facing adversity head-on. Through this chapter, Winnie gains a deeper understanding of her own inner fortitude.

In “The Calm After” a serene oasis amidst the storm is unveiled. Here, Winnie’s whispers of healing, acceptance, and the soothing balm of resilience is evidenced. In this chapter she not only shares her journey towards inner peace but also begins to understand the power of finding solace, the art of letting go, and the beauty of embracing tranquility.

Finally, the last chapter which is “New Beginnings” breathes life into the realm of hope and transformation. Winnie’s verses sing of fresh perspectives. Through these poems, she discovers the promise of growth, renewal, and the infinite possibilities that lie ahead. 8. “i hope it finds a place in your hearts and homes.” She said in a press release.
