When did Fabris Mulindi Wins 10th Youth Change Maker Award?
ACCRA, GHANA – Fabris Mulindi, the 22-year-old Ugandan-based Congolese refugee and founder of Solve & Flourish Africa (SOLFA), has been announced winner of the prestigious Youth Change Maker Award at the 10th Annual EMY Africa Awards held on November 22, 2025, at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra.
The Youth Change Maker Award, presented in partnership with global nonprofit Peace First, celebrates young Africans aged 18–30 who are creating transformative social change and building peace across the continent. Mulindi emerged victorious against a strong shortlist of nominees from Angola, Morocco, Cameroon, and Ghana.
Victory Speech and Dedication
Speaking moments after receiving the award, an emotional Mulindi dedicated the victory to refugees and rural youth across Africa:
“This award belongs to every young person in Kyangwali Refugee Settlement, every farmer fighting climate change with their bare hands, and every dreamer who was told their circumstances define their future. We are proving them wrong – one seedling, one solar pump, one empowered community at a time.”
From Refugee to Continental Changemaker
From fleeing war in the Democratic Republic of Congo as a child to building one of East Africa’s fastest-growing youth-led climate organisations, Mulindi’s journey has inspired thousands. Through SOLFA, he has introduced climate-smart agriculture, solar-powered clean water systems, waste-to-value projects, and entrepreneurship training that directly benefit refugee settlements and marginalised rural communities in Uganda.

His achievements now include:
- 2025 Youth Change Maker Award – EMY Africa Awards
- 2024 Mitsubishi Challenge winner (carbon-capturing irrigation system)

A Night of African Excellence
The EMY Africa Awards, often called the “Father’s Day celebration of African excellence”, brought together leaders, creatives, and changemakers from across the continent for a ceremony that recognised icons in business, arts, philanthropy, and activism.
The Mission Continues
For Mulindi and the entire SOLFA family, the victory is more fuel for the mission: turning Africa’s biggest climate and refugee challenges into opportunities for sustainable prosperity.
“This is not the end – it’s a louder microphone,” Mulindi told Kampala Edge Times shortly after the win. “We’re just getting started.”
Congratulations, Fabris Mulindi – Uganda and Africa are proud.
