What was meant to be a celebratory night for Laika Music’s EP release turned into a dramatic showdown when she clashed with deejay and radio personality Etania, who is also a cast member of the reality TV show Kampala Crème. The altercation reportedly escalated when Laika accused Etania of being envious and under the influence of cheap alcohol.
Addressing the press, Laika Music did not hold back, describing Etania’s behavior as a result of jealousy and intoxication. She insinuated that Etania’s anger was fueled by the fact that Laika’s event, complete with a red carpet, overshadowed her own birthday pool party organized by her musician boyfriend, Joshua Baraka. Laika didn’t shy away from criticizing both Etania and Baraka, calling the party “fake” and questioning the value of their relationship.
“If my friend had a bigger launch than my birthday party, I’d be upset too,” Laika said. “It seems her boyfriend organized a fake event, and when she saw the grandeur of my party, it made her angry. Or maybe she’s just drunk on cheap alcohol. Why cause a scene on someone else’s big day?”
Laika also took aim at Baraka, labeling him as “broke” and implying that Etania’s choice in men was less than impressive. “There’s nothing wrong with being broke, but it’s not my preference. I love money and wouldn’t be with someone still struggling. Joshua Baraka might be famous, but he isn’t rich. And what does Etania get from him? She’s still driving an IST while I cruise in a 2017 GLE Mercedes Benz,” Laika added.
The feud intensified on the show after Etania made sarcastic remarks about Laika in the latest episode, leading to the physical altercation at the EP launch. Laika’s dress was reportedly damaged in the scuffle, and she used the opportunity to highlight the incident’s cost, suggesting that Etania couldn’t appreciate the value of her attire.
“This is what happens when someone tries to pretend to be a gangster but can’t handle the consequences,” Laika remarked. “I want my fans to see how she ruined my dress with cocktails. She doesn’t even know the cost of such a dress.”
The altercation has fans of Kampala Crème eagerly anticipating more drama, adding a new layer of excitement to the show.
