Kampala, Uganda – The Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) has announced a planned power shutdown affecting multiple areas served by the Mutundwe Substation. The outage is scheduled for Friday, August 8, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., as the company’s technical team conducts critical maintenance work.

The power shutdown will impact a wide range of locations, including Mutundwe, Bunamwaya, Kabowa, Kabusu, Rubaga, Ndeije, Kasana, Ndeije University, Kyaaye, Mengo, Mengo Hospital, Butikiro Road, Bakuli, Kyadondo Road, Bukesa, Namirembe Cathedral, Bulange, Kyadondo Road, Muteesa 1 Road, Wankulukuku, Kibuye, Kirinyabigo, Kinawa, Mugongo, Nalumunye, Kazinga, Kidawaliime, Kikajo, Kasengete, Nsagu, Nalwebudde, Kirombe, Wakaliga, Lubiri SS, Lunguja, Nateete, Kyengera, Busega, Bulenga, Kikaya, Nakawuka, Buddo, Nabingo, Katende, Mpigi, Mitla Maria, Kyabadaaza, Kamengo, Kalagala, Kizinda, Nakirebe, Maya, Nsangi, Nabbinngo, Namagoma, and Gogonya. Additional affected areas include Nakuwadde, Gogonya, Bulaga, Sumbwe, Buloba, Forest Park, Temangalo Road, Bujuko, Nswanjere, Muduma, Nakabugo, Kalambi, Kisamila, Kiwumu, Kiseka Road, Kinyanya, Bukasa, Bira, Mbooga, Nsubwe, and Buyala.

This planned maintenance underscores UEDCL’s ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure, though it will temporarily disrupt services across a significant portion of the capital region.
