The Bukedi Rugby Association held its regional meeting on Sunday, 15th March 2025, with strong representation from districts across the region, including Tororo, Kibuku, Pallisa, Budaka, and others. The main objective of the meeting was to elect a new Chairperson and General Secretary for the association.

Following a thorough and carefully conducted election, Mr. Timothy Byaruhanga of Tororo Rugby was elected Chairperson. In the same session, Mr. Achadu Vincent from Pallisa was elected as the new General Secretary. The newly elected leaders will serve a two-year term and continue the work they have been passionately involved in even before their election—advancing the spirit of rugby throughout Bukedi.

Remarks from the New Bukedi Rugby Association Chairperson

In a heartfelt address filled with love for the game, Mr. Timothy Byaruhanga pledged to continue promoting rugby across all districts in Bukedi. His words reflected not political ambition, but a genuine commitment to a cause he has long championed.
However, the new Chairperson expressed disappointment that some districts within the region did not send delegates to the Bukedi Rugby Association meeting. The session concluded with discussions focused on bringing more schools on board. A new chapter has begun, and much is expected from the new leadership as they aim to take rugby in the region to greater heights.
