The USSSA Ball Games II 2025 officially began in Tororo, marking the start of a thrilling 10-day championship. However, the opening day had a slow start compared to previous editions. With 18 disciplines featured, including debuts like Futsal and gymnastics demonstrations, the event promises excitement.
By 11:00 AM on Friday, July 11, the venues were unusually quiet. Few spectators were present, likely because schools were still undergoing verification at their halls of residence. Despite the slow beginning, organizers remained optimistic as teams gradually arrived.
USSSA Ball Games II 2025- Netball
16 groups for Netball, the top two teams advance to the round of 32. This was a decision that was deliberated upon and the majority managed to come up with that as the final decision.

Meanwhile, the technical meeting saw 61 out of 62 games teachers agreeing on key decisions, with only one dissenting voice. The draws were later conducted at Tororo Girls School, setting the stage for competitive matches.
DanceSport Delayed Due to Verification Issues
One of the most exciting and eye catching of the USSSA Ball Games II 2025 games is the DanceSport discipline, now in its fourth edition, faced delays. Although 54 schools were expected, only a few completed verification on time. Rubongi Army Secondary Schoolwas the sole representative from the host region, Bukedi.
Due to the delays, organizers postponed the official start to Saturday, July 12. This discipline, managed by the Uganda DanceSport Federation, remains a unique highlight of the games.

Volleyball: Defending Champions Start Strong
In USSSA Ball Games II 2025 girls’ volleyball, defending champions Bukedea Comprehensive School kicked off their campaign with a 2-0 victory over Ubuntu Hill School.
The boys’ category also saw intense action, with Bukedea Comprehensive securing another 2-0 win against St. Gonzaga. 12. Other notable results included:

Handball Dominance by Kibuli and Mbogo Mixed

Handball matches officially began at St. Peter’s College Tororo. In the boys’ category, Mbogo Mixed SS delivered a crushing 27-9 win over Kakira High School.
The girls’ handball match saw Kibuli SS dominate Trinity College Nabbingo with a 34-10 victory. These results set the tone for more high-energy clashes in the coming days.
Key Venues for the USSSA Ball Games II 2025
The games are spread across multiple venues in Tororo:
Tororo Girls School – Hosts netball, basketball (3×3), chess, scrabble, and ludo.
St. Peter’s College Tororo – Features volleyball, beach volleyball, futsal, and boys’ basketball (U-16, 5×5). 23.
King George Memorial Stadium – Hosts athletics.
Elgon View Primary School – Home of rugby 7’s.
Uganda College of Commerce (UCC-Tororo) – Venue for woodball.

Rugby 7’s and Football Fixtures
Rugby 7’s began on Saturday, July 12, with nine matches scheduled. The event will take a break on Sunday, July 13, resuming on Monday, July 14. 28. For football (U-16 and CAF U-14), matches will be held at eight venues, including Manjasi High School, Datic Tororo, and King George Memorial Stadium.
USSSA Ball Games II 2025 Demonstration Sports
Three sports — cricket, gymnastics, and baseball/softball — are being showcased as demonstration games. These events aim to introduce students to new sporting opportunities.
