When were the UVTAB results released?
KAMPALA, Uganda – Today, 25th July 2025, Uganda Vocational and Technical Assessment Board (UVTAB) has announced the November-December 2024 assessment results, showcasing significant strides in the nation’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector. The results, released on Friday, mark the final assessments conducted by the Uganda Business and Technical Examinations Board (UBTEB) before the implementation of the TVET Act 2025.
How many students registered for UVTAB exams?
A total of 31,890 candidates registered for the assessments, with 26,703 (84%) enrolling in National Certificate programs in technology-related fields and 4,937 in business and humanities programs. Notably, only 250 candidates registered for Physical and Biological Sciences. According to Onesmus Oyesigye, UVTAB’s Executive Secretary, 29,378 candidates (92% of those registered) participated in the assessments, reflecting strong turnout across most program categories.
In the Advanced Craft Assessment, 65 candidates (77%) successfully completed their studies. Of these, 39.3% earned distinctions, 32.1% achieved credit grades, and 6% received pass grades. “Those who successfully completed will be able to re-enter the workforce or pursue further training,” Oyesigye noted, emphasizing the practical impact of these qualifications.
For the National Certificate Assessment, 20,052 candidates (94% of those registered) sat for the exams. Of these, 9% (1,805 candidates) achieved first-class results, 30% (6,047) secured second-class upper division, 26% (5,265) earned second-class lower division, and 28% (5,563) received pass grades.
What did Janet M7 say about the UVTAB results?
First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Museveni, hailed the results as a milestone in the implementation of TVET reforms outlined in the TVET Policy 2019 and the TVET Act 2025. “The release of these results celebrates the progress made in aligning our education system with the needs of the modern workforce,” she said. Museveni also commended the participation of 12,111 female candidates, noting their growing preference for TVET as a career pathway. “As a government, we continue to applaud their commitment to skills development,” she added.
Despite the achievements, Museveni stressed the need for ongoing collaboration among stakeholders, including the private sector, industry, and trainees, to ensure training remains relevant and responsive to labor market demands. “The TVET Act 2025 provides a robust regulatory framework that fosters innovation, industry engagement, and skills recognition across all pathways,” she said, urging stakeholders to embrace the opportunities it presents.
Museveni called on Ugandan youth, both in and out of school, to seize TVET opportunities, emphasizing the government’s plan to expand training through Skills Development Centres, Vocational Technical Institutes, Work-based Training providers, Technical Colleges, National Polytechnics, and the eventual establishment of a National Technical University. “Our focus is on producing skilled artisans and technicians who are in high demand in the global workforce,” she said.
The release of the 2024 assessment results underscores Uganda’s commitment to building a skilled and competitive workforce, aligning with the broader goals of the TVET Policy and Act to transform vocational education in the country.

The Uganda Vocational and Technical Assessment Board (UVTAB) has released the November/December 2024 assessment results, and candidates can now access their outcomes through the following steps:
- Visit the Official Website: Navigate to www.eims.uvtab.go.ug, the official Examination Information Management System (EIMS) portal.
- Enter Login Details: Use your Registration Number as both the email and password to log in.
- Access Your Results: Once logged in, you can view your results and other relevant details.
For added convenience, results can also be accessed on Thursday, July 24, 2025, between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM at the National Skills Assessment Centre. Alternatively, scan the provided QR code to access results directly through the EIMS portal.
