When did Muhoozi announce CDF Mr Uganda Competition?

General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, a top military figure and influential public personality in Uganda, has announced today, 11 April 2025 the launch of a bold new initiative aimed at empowering the youth. Dubbed the CDF Mr Uganda Competition, this nationwide challenge promises big rewards for young, disciplined men across the country.

What Is the CDF Mr Uganda Competition?

The CDF Mr Uganda Competition is a newly introduced fitness and discipline contest targeting Ugandan males aged 15 to 25 years. The event will focus on key areas such as height, strength, and overall physical fitness, with discipline being a key eligibility factor.

This initiative comes directly from Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s commitment to support his youthful fan base, which he says forms the majority of his followers.

I've decided to help the majority of my fans. Most of my fans are young men…from 15 years to 25 years. We are going to have height, strength and fitness competitions for these young men. Also, they have to be well disciplined boys. We shall call them 'CDF's Mr. Uganda…

Rewards for Winners of the CDF Mr Uganda Competition

The stakes are high. Each winner of the competition will receive:

  • UGX 50 million (fifty million shillings)
  • Automatic employment in the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF)

This life-changing opportunity is expected to motivate thousands of young Ugandans to participate and showcase their potential.

When Will the First CDF Mr Uganda Competition Be Held?

According to Muhoozi’s tweet posted at 7:18 AM on April 11, 2025, the inaugural edition of the competition is scheduled for October 2025. From then on, the competition will be held twice every year, giving more youth frequent opportunities to benefit.

Col. Magezi Appointed to Lead the Project

To ensure successful execution, Col. Magezi has been appointed as the supervisor of the CDF Mr Uganda Competition. In a humorous yet stern tone, Muhoozi warned that if Col. Magezi fails to deliver the competition by October, he will have him arrested.

(This phrase, in Runyankore, means “I love you very much.”)

Final Thoughts: A Unique Blend of Fitness and Patriotism

The CDF Mr Uganda Competition is more than just a contest. It’s a vision to engage Uganda’s youth, promote national pride, and open doors to military careers. As October approaches, all eyes will be on this innovative program and the young men it aims to uplift.
