Burudika Na East FM at 10 Years has been the talk of Tororo, neighboring districts, and even parts of Kenya where Radio East FM’s 100.2 FM frequency is received. Not to mention the international community, too—those far from home but tuned in online or via the app. The excitement was not just about the star-studded lineup of artists who performed on Saturday, 6th September 2025, but also about the incredible journey and impact East FM has had over the past ten years.
In fact, the commemoration of the ten outstanding years ran throughout the week with various activities and outreaches. This led up to the Children’s Party on Friday, 5th September 2025. The event featured a number of fun activities for children and ended with a powerful performance by one of Uganda’s star kid artists, Fresh Kid. Though Fresh Kid is now growing, some wondered whether he might one day change his stage name—but that’s a story for another time.
Burudika Na East FM at 10 Years D-day Attracts Thousands
On Saturday, 6th September 2025, all roads led to Lions Children’s Park, Tororo. Crowds turned up not only to celebrate Burudika Na East FM at 10 Years but also to catch a glimpse of their favorite artists such as Vyroota, Pallaso, and Cindy. By 7:00 PM, the surrounding areas near the entrance were packed with people trying to squeeze through the two gates that admitted revelers into the “promised land.”
Before the guest artists performed, the Tororo Band treated the audience to a soothing live session, beautifully delivering a range of music covers. This was followed by the presentation of Radio East FM staff, much to the delight of the crowd who were excited to finally see some of their favorite program hosts in person. Fireworks lit up the night sky, and a cake was cut to commemorate Burudika Na East FM at 10 Years.
As if that wasn’t enough, gifts were also handed out to lucky ticket holders whose numbers were randomly selected. Prizes included TVs and a brand-new motorcycle, which was won by a relatively young gentleman—to the envy of many who prayed that God would remember them next time too.
Vyroota, Pallaso, and Cindy Perform at Burudika Na East FM at 10 Years
Contrary to some beliefs that artists would only come on stage around 2:00 AM, at about 1:00 AM Vyroota stepped up to add even more joy to the already electric atmosphere. Known for his powerful romantic songs, he thrilled fans with a set of his best hits, which the audience sang along to. During his collaboration hit with Gloria Bugie, “ Ready,” he invited some ladies from the crowd to sing Gloria’s part. Most struggled, until a Senior Four student from Rubongi Army SS Tororo, Ireme Grace Patience—a die-hard fan of Vyroota—stepped up and nailed it perfectly.
Next came Pallaso, the King of the East, also fondly called Uncle P. The crowd erupted into loud cheers as he stepped onto the stage with his hit “Bega Bega.” The youngest Mayanja brother, who had recently celebrated his birthday, was in great spirits as he delivered hit after hit with the vibrant audience singing along. Pallaso paid homage to East FM, thanking them for supporting musicians, especially homegrown talent. He even expressed his willingness to collaborate with one of Tororo’s artists—a move East FM should surely follow up on.
To crown the night, the King Herself, Cindy, stormed the stage with “Run this City,” flanked by her energetic Queen dancers. She paused mid-performance to thank East FM for the excellent arrangements before teasing the crowd with her collaboration with Omega 256, “See You Tonight,” telling them to expect it later. Cindy then went on to deliver her best hits, seamlessly shifting between singing and dancing—sometimes both at once. Though exhausting, the smile on her face revealed that she was truly doing what she loves and understands best.
