The Ministry of Internal Affairs, through the Uganda Police Force (UPF), has announced a major recruitment drive aimed at enlisting 100,000 Election Special Police Constables. The new recruits will serve on a three-month contract and will assist in maintaining law and order during the upcoming electoral period.
According to the official notice issued by the Office of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), the successful candidates will receive a monthly remuneration of UGX 469,000 and will be deployed to serve within their respective districts of residence.
Eligibility Criteria and Minimum Requirements for Recruitment
The recruitment is open to all suitably qualified Ugandan citizens of good conduct and with no criminal record. Applicants must meet several requirements, including:
- Citizenship: Must be a Ugandan citizen with a valid National Identity Card.
- Age: Must be 18 years and above.
- Education: Must possess at least a Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) result slip.
- Physical Fitness: Candidates must be physically fit and ready to work under challenging conditions.
- Character: Applicants should demonstrate patriotism, discipline, and good communication skills.
- Volunteer Experience: A proven record of volunteer service with the Uganda Police Force will be an added advantage.
- Other Conditions: Must be a registered voter, not currently serving in any of the armed forces, and willing to undergo a one-month Basic Security Training Course.
Women are strongly encouraged to apply, reflecting the force’s commitment to gender inclusivity and balanced participation in national security operations.

How To Apply
Interested candidates are required to submit handwritten applications addressed to the Inspector General of Police (IGP).
The application package must include:
- Photocopies of academic documents
- A copy of the National Identity Card
- One recent passport-size photograph
- Recommendation letters from local leaders such as the LCI, LCIII, and GISO
All applications should be delivered to the Police District or Divisional Headquarters by November 1, 2025. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews, and the dates will be communicated in due course.
The notice carries a stern warning against impersonation and the submission of forged documents. The Uganda Police Force emphasized that any individual found guilty of falsifying information will face arrest and prosecution in courts of law.
