Rebecca Jjingo, a well-known radio presenter and musician, has revealed a harrowing experience of surviving an acid attack by an enraged woman who confronted her at work. The drama unfolded when Jjingo, who hosts a popular radio show dealing with relationship issues, became involved in a complex affair between a maid and a married man.
The maid, distraught over the man’s refusal to acknowledge their child and his subsequent abandonment of her, reached out to Jjingo for help. Jjingo sent a message to the man on WhatsApp, unaware that his wife was monitoring the conversation. The wife, incensed by the situation, tracked down Jjingo and ambushed her at her workplace.
Describing the encounter, Jjingo said, “The woman confronted me, played the recordings I sent to her husband, and demanded explanations. I tried to clarify that I was merely assisting the maid and not directly involved. When she asked for the maid’s whereabouts, I couldn’t provide any answers.”
Jjingo recounted how the woman, still visibly upset, revealed a bottle of acid and told her she had forgiven her. “I was terrified. She showed me the acid and said she had forgiven me, but I was so shaken that my friend had to help me leave the scene,” Jjingo explained.
After the confrontation, the woman, who had concealed her identity with a dress, left in her V8 car, leaving Jjingo relieved but deeply shaken.
