What the Ministry of Works and Transport Said About the EPS Auto Suspension
According to an official statement released via the Ministry’s social media platform, the suspension will allow authorities to assess the EPS Auto’s impact and address any concerns raised by stakeholders and the public. The system, introduced to streamline traffic enforcement and penalty issuance, has been under scrutiny in recent weeks.
A detailed statement outlining the way forward will be delivered tomorrow by General Edward Katumba Wamala, Minister of Works and Transport. The Ministry emphasized that the review aims to ensure the system’s effectiveness, fairness, and alignment with national transport and safety goals.
“In the meantime, we urge all road users to continue driving responsibly and observing traffic rules,” the Ministry said in its statement.
The EPS Auto initiative was part of a broader effort to digitize and enhance road safety enforcement in Uganda, leveraging technology to reduce traffic violations and promote accountability on the roads.
More updates are expected following General Wamala’s address.
