Indomie Emerges as Most Preferred Noodles in East Africa

Indomie Instant Noodles has once again been crowned the Most Preferred Noodles Brand in East Africa at this year’s East Africa Brand Quality Awards (EABQA), held at the Golf Course Hotel in Kampala. The recognition reaffirms Indomie’s place as a trusted, consistent, and proudly homegrown favorite across the region.

This marks the fourth time Indomie has earned this honor—an achievement that underscores the brand’s continued investment in quality, affordability, availability, and local market development. The accolade follows a series of consumer-led recognitions, including its repeated success at the People’s Choice Awards, where it remains the most celebrated noodles brand four years running.

Receiving the award, Kennedy Omondi, Country Representative at Indomie Uganda, expressed appreciation to consumers and emphasized the brand’s commitment to East Africa’s growth:

“This recognition belongs to every Ugandan and East African family that has made Indomie part of their everyday life. Beyond taste and quality, we are deeply invested in local production, job creation, and community development. Supporting brands like Indomie means strengthening our local industries, empowering youth employment, and fueling a more resilient regional economy.”

The East Africa Brand Quality Awards spotlight brands that embody excellence, innovation, and consumer trust. In 2025, the awards placed special focus on brands driving local value chains and promoting sustainable growth—a principle Indomie has embraced through its expanding local sourcing, distribution partnerships, and youth empowerment programs.

Patrick Nsubuga, Brand Ambassador for EABQA, noted:

“Celebrating brands like Indomie reminds us that local market support is the foundation of sustainable development. When consumers choose East African brands, they don’t just buy a product—they invest in livelihoods, innovation, and the future of our economy.”

The EABQA’s rigorous evaluation process assesses market reputation, customer satisfaction, business excellence, and social impact—making this recognition a reflection of real consumer trust and brand authenticity.
