Who is the new news anchor at NTV Uganda?
NTV Uganda has officially introduced Privah Nuwamanya as the newest anchor for its prime-time news bulletin, NTV Tonight. Her on-screen debut on Monday, May 5, 2025, has been met with praise from viewers who lauded her confident delivery, articulate presentation, and poised on-air presence.
This appointment marks a major step in Privah’s steadily rising media career and reflects NTV’s ongoing strategy of refreshing its newsroom with dynamic new talent. She joins the lineup just weeks after the unveiling of Joram Ssonko, further cementing NTV Uganda’s commitment to remaining a leading voice in Ugandan journalism.

Who is Privah Nuwamanya?
Privah Nuwamanya Elberz is a news anchor for NTV Uganda since 5th April 2025 who reads the NTV Tonight 9PM English bulletin. Her broadcasting journey began on radio — a medium where her talent first drew national attention. She broke into the industry through KFM’s popular talent search Who’s Got The Mic, where she emerged among the top three finalists. Her performance in the competition earned her a spot at KFM, where she worked as a newsreader under the Nation Media Group.
Following her successful stint at KFM, Privah transitioned to Capital FM, one of the country’s most influential stations. There, she co-hosted the show Privah and Oulanyah, which quickly became a listener favorite thanks to its mix of vibrant conversation, news, and personality-driven content. Her chemistry with co-host Oulanyah and her authoritative yet warm tone helped build a strong listener base.
She remained with Capital FM until April 2025, when she exited the station quietly, preparing for a move that would soon take her career to national television.

A Seamless Transition to TV
Privah made her television debut on NTV Tonight on May 5, 2025, stepping into a role that demands clarity, confidence, and composure. Her performance was met with widespread praise on social media and among industry professionals, many highlighting her natural presence, crisp intonation, and ability to navigate live television with ease.
While she is new to the TV screen, Privah brings with her years of experience in delivering news, interviewing key figures, and building a rapport with audiences — all of which are now evident in her television broadcasts.
A New Chapter at NTV Uganda
Her arrival is part of a broader strategic effort by NTV Uganda to rejuvenate its newsroom with emerging talent. Just weeks earlier, the station also introduced Joram Ssonko as a newsreader. The dual announcements suggest a deliberate pivot toward engaging a broader and more youthful audience, while maintaining the station’s high journalistic standards.
Announcing her debut, NTV Uganda shared on X (formerly Twitter):
“Meet the new face of NTV Tonight! Starting tonight, Privah Nuwamanya joins us as the new anchor of NTV Tonight. Fresh perspective. Trusted news.”
The statement captured the spirit of renewal and trust that the station continues to prioritize in its programming.
Looking Ahead
Privah’s transition from radio to television is both seamless and symbolic. It represents the rise of a new generation of Ugandan broadcasters who are versatile, authentic, and deeply committed to storytelling. As she settles into her new role, audiences can expect consistent, credible, and compelling delivery from a voice that is already becoming a staple in Uganda’s media landscape.
Whether behind a microphone or in front of the camera, Privah Nuwamanya is a media personality to watch — one who embodies the blend of freshness and reliability that today’s viewers expect from their news anchors.
